It’s so nice to meet you.
Hi there, I’m Lamara— a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with prescriptive authority and over a decade of experience providing mental health care to adults, teens, and children across a range of clinical settings. My background includes working in psychiatric emergency rooms, inpatient units, and outpatient mental health clinics.
I earned a Master of Science in Advanced Practice Nursing from the University of Colorado and a Master’s in Social Work from Columbia University. I’ve also completed specialized training in perinatal mood disorders and psychopharmacology through Postpartum Support International (PSI). While I bring extensive clinical experience, I firmly believe that each person is the expert of their own body and mind. I integrate medication when appropriate with supportive therapy, and other lifestyle interventions to support whole-person healing.
I currently work with teens (16+) and adults navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, and life transitions. Drawing from my dual training in nursing and social work, I take an individualized, collaborative approach to care. My practice is rooted in a commitment to inclusive, affirming care, social justice, and patient empowerment.
At the heart of my work is a strengths-based, whole-person philosophy: I believe that every individual has an innate resilience that can be tapped into to support meaningful healing and growth. I want the people I work with to thrive—not just survive—and I’m honored to walk alongside them on their journey toward wellness.
